as soon as Feb 2012 I wrote that one of the main hidden motives for starting troubles in Syria was to establish a corridor to the MED for exporting Oil from a Mini Kurdish state expected by the Oil Majors and the Likud. At the end of March 2014 Jihadists fighters reached the Syrian Beach and paraded there in a video. But last year after the fall of Tell Abiad in the hands of Kurdish groups who expelled Arab families, the Turkish realised that the regime change objective was a cover, or second to the creation of a Kurdish corridor to the MED for a Kurdish state.

I don’t think oil is the main reason or even an important reason for this western intervention. American journalist Seymour Hersch wrote in march 2007, 4 years before this war, that Israël was very angry for losing the July/August 2006 war against Hezbollah.
After deliberations the advice given to Dick Cheney – mastermind of the Bush Jr. administration – was to use the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood to destroy Syria in order to finally liquidate Hezbollah. In 2009 a secret US base was set up in Jordan near the Syrian border to train recruits for al Qaeda in Iraq and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Sure pipelines from the Gulf States trough Syria would be very welcome for some of these agressor states against Syria. But in my opinion this wish comes second. Israël wants a Middle East as destroyed as possible.
See my coming article based on an interview with Lawrence Wilkerson, former chief of staff of Colin Powel, former head of the US army and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in 2003 at the time of the Iraqi invasion.
The wishes of Exxon and Qatar comes second after those of Israel when the US goes to war in this region. Some Kurdish groups have for decades been getting vital support from Israël. Divide and rule over the Arabs it’s called. That’s where US support for the PKK/YPG comes from. Erdogan should have known this all along.
